Founder
Brett lives in Uptown with his wife, two children, two dogs, and two cats. He holds a BS in political science from UIC and an MBA from George Washington University. Prior to returning to make Chicago his forever home, he served as an officer in both the U.S. Army and Navy, a Diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, and worked in high stakes crisis communications.

She holds a degree in Advocacy and Project Management, a combination that shows up in everything she does, from real estate to championing causes close to her heart. Her professional path in real estate is grounded in the belief that a home is more than a transaction — it’s the foundation for a family’s next chapter. Her story is one of hustle, heart, and heritage — a Chicago native who has built a life defined by advocacy, service, and love.

Dani is a Chicago native whose professional experience ranges from hospitality and management at some of the city’s best restaurants (Giant, Parachute, and Blackbird) to community engagement and program management at the Pat Tillman Foundation and MIT. Dani holds a BA in International Studies from Loyola University Chicago and splits her time between Chicago and Lyon, France. Her favorite things about Chicago include: The Art Institute, jibaritos, and Geoffery Baer.

The Fine Print
Be a tenant in good standing at any Ka-Tet managed property for at least three consecutive years
Maintain a history of timely rent payments: No payments submitted later than the 15th of the month.
The rented property is left in good condition: No uncompensated or unrepaired damage to the property, beyond standard wear and tear.
Purchase your first home within 180 days of leaving a Ka-Tet managed property

How it works
Our goal is to build community equity. That goes for tenants just as much as owner clients. The Ka-Tet Community Equity Program is intended to make purchasing your first home just a bit easier.
Assuming you meet the program’s eligibility criteria, when you close on the purchase of your first home, Ka-Tet Properties will contribute to your down payment. The amount of that contribution will be equal to 5% of the total rent you’ve paid while in a Ka-Tet-managed property.
For example, if you had been renting through Ka-Tet Properties for the past three years, paying $2,000 monthly in rent, our contribution to your down payment would be $3,600.
Our program won’t change the size of the place you’re getting, but it’s a step toward actualizing your dreams. It’s our way of chipping in to support our community.
